Inspired by the timeless style of Bianca Jagger's quick wedding to Mike Jagger in May 1971, 'Fast Cars and Fast Brides' fuses female empowerment with elegantly unconventional bridal wear. Shot in London, we opted for a gritty street style feel, to perfectly balance the allurement of a beautiful bride and sports car. Using an Audi R8, we explore the idea of city elopements, and the trend of driving yourself to your own wedding.
Designers Stephanie Allin and Kate Edmonson provided bridal wear using clean, elegant lines for an understated yet fashion forward look. 'The Blazer' dress from Kate Edmonson, with a plunging neck line, perfectly flatters the female form, exuding confidence and strength. The 'Garbo' jumpsuit by Stephanie Allin, paired with the platform Freya Rose 'CiCi' shoe, and Ashley Wild fedora hat, gives us a touch of late 70s glam, exploring the development of women establishing their authority through clothing.
Florals were provided by Flowers by Lucy, who created contemporary bouquets with a neutral palette. Using angular shapes reflecting the city scape, softened with perfumed roses and trailing euphoria, gave the bouquets an intricate and romantic feel.
Carla at CESCA created the hair and makeup, and kept the styling polished and elegant. Hair was blow-dried straight and sleek, the makeup base and eyes were kept natural, and in contrast a daring berry/brown tone lipstick was applied. Hair pearls were added for some looks adding an editorial and modern feel.
Imagery was captured by James Hill, who specialises in creative reportage photography. The feel was sensual, off-center and unobtrusive. Using natural light and a variety of angles, James created the perfect balance between gritty and luxe, confident yet demure. Zach & Grace encapsulated this mood with relaxed videography, and perfectly portrayed our bride exuding power and femininity.
